| Profile of the Programme

Mathematics Department was started in the Faculty of Science in 1993. In Mathematics Department,research is carried out in the fields of analysis, algebra, geometry, topology, applied mathematics and mathematics education, which are all the basic fields of mathematics. Students of this program have the opportunity to take elective courses such as business, economics, and some other social courses which are taught at different faculties of the university, which help them develop general knowledge in addition to their knowledge in the field. Students of the program have the opportunity to get a double degree or minor degree as well. In Mathematics Department, there are currently 13 Professors, 8 Associate Professors, 5 Assistant Professors, 1 Lecturer and 8 Research Assisstants. This program intends to include all kinds of practical and theoretical aspects of the field of study and it aims to enable students to appreciate that mathematics is the synthesis of sharp logic and consistent reasoning with strong intuition and creativity to equip students with the skills of contemplation, questioning and synthesis.
