School of Music and Drama | Department of Performing Arts | Program in Opera

Opera Department is an application-oriented program that aims to train students with high-level technical and artistic equipment in performing arts. In addition to vocal skills, it offers a comprehensive development process in areas such as dramatic expression, stage posture, auditory and physical awareness. It is aimed for students to assume active roles on national and international stages by creating their individual artist identities. The program is carried out with an understanding that blends the master-apprentice tradition with contemporary pedagogical approaches. In addition to individual singing lessons, workshops, seminars, concert projects and stage practices play an important role in the education process. These practices, which are carried out with academicians who are experts in their fields, enable students to recognize different technical and aesthetic approaches. The Opera Department cooperates with various European conservatories and music academies within the scope of Erasmus; it offers students the opportunity to gain education and stage experience abroad through exchange programs. In addition, the professional development of students is supported through national and international project partnerships, festivals and competitions.
