Journalism master’s program provides an educational opportunity for those who have completed their undergraduate education in the fields of social sciences and communication sciences in general, and journalism, press, and publishing in particular. Students who enroll in the program outside of the field must primarily complete the “difference courses” at the undergraduate level in accordance with the “scientific proficiency curriculum”.

The program’s main objective is to train high-quality staff with a master’s degree, who can work at universities in our country that provide education in the field of communication sciences, and in all institutions and organizations that require qualified experts in the field of journalism.

For this purpose, there are courses for quantitative research methods alongside theoretical courses.

In addition to the mandatory courses of Science Ethics and Research Methods, Statistical Analysis and Evaluation, the program offers the following elective courses for students: Political Journalism Research, Critical Discourse Analysis, Political Economy of Media, Visual Design Analysis, Social Media Research, Content Analysis, Gender Studies, Popular Culture Analysis, Applied Web Analysis, Radio Research, Television Story Analysis, Analysis of Work Ethics in Media.

Students, who have completed their courses, are expected to prepare a descriptive master’s thesis based on the methods they have learned in prior courses and defend it in front of a jury.
