Faculty of Education | General Information

In 1982, after the restructuring of higher education institutions in Turkey, the Faculty of Education was established with two programs in one department: English Language Teaching and German Language Teaching. Today, the number of departments has increased to eight with the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies, Department of Educational Sciences, Department of Fine Arts Education, Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Department of Special Education, Department of Primary Education, Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education, and Department of Foreign Language Education. The faculty owns classes equipped with technology, individual special education service units, modern computer labs with internet access, science labs, a reading room with all types of reading materials, seminar rooms, and conference halls. The faculty aims to train teachers who are devoted to Atatürk’s principles and revolutions, who can think independently, who are able to realize their ideas through various activities, and those who can pass on these skills to our children within the strong belief that it is not enough to equip prospective teachers with academic and pedagogical knowledge only.
