Department in Computer Education and Instructional Technologies were first opened in 1998 by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) within the framework of the reconstruction of Education Faculties.

Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies has started education in the 1998-1999 academic year. Currently, three professors, two associate professors, three instructors and one research assistant lecture in the department.

The main purpose of the department is to train teachers for primary and secondary schools by offering undergraduate courses in the fields of computers and other types of information technology. Graduates of Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technologies may work as teachers or instructional technologists in public and private schools affiliated to the Ministry of Education, or as academics in related departments of universities.
