  • The student will be able to recognize the conceptualizations of history as a phenomenon and history as science, including the question of what history is.
  • The student will be able to understand the development process of the word history, the efforts to turn it into a regular discipline, and the studies carried out in the Ancient Greek world.
  • The student will be able to realize the mental transformation that emerged in the view of existence, knowledge and values ​​with the Renaissance and Reformation movements in Europe.
  • The student will be able to critically evaluate the effects of the Renaissance and Reformation movements on historiography and philosophy of history in the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries.
  • The student will be able to understand the historical understanding of Enlightenment Philosophy in the 18th Century.
  • The student will be able to realize how discussions on the philosophy of history were explained through the basic concepts of the German idealist tradition in the 19th century.
