Recommended Resources Krauss, R. “Sculpture in the Expanded Field”; Bishop, C. Installation Art: A Critical History; Kwon, M. One Place After Another; Benjamin, W. “The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction”; Bourriaud, N. Relational Aesthetics; Foster, H. The Return of the Real; Steyerl, H. The Wretched of the Screen; Bachelard, G. The Poetics of Space; Antmen, A. 20. Yüzyıl Batı Sanatında Akımlar. Weekly artwork and text research is related to movement, video, performance, transparency, colour and light.
Work Placement Studio experiments, sketches, storyboards, models and prototypes address the catalogue topics of kinetic art, video/performance/installation and colour–light–transparency. Research results and production proposals are presented; projects are produced after instructor approval. Midterm and final portfolios contain experiments, projects, research texts and presentation/documentation records from the relevant stages. Decisions on duration, space, audience circulation, installation/deinstallation and safety are documented.
Aims of the Course The course aims to enable students to develop experimental research, proposals and projects through contemporary artistic expression, combining kinetic art, video, performance and installation with the colour and light potential of transparent/translucent materials around a conceptual research question. The autumn plan’s research–experiment–presentation/approval–production structure is adapted to the spring catalogue content. Relationships between movement, duration, the body, space and the audience are tested through prototypes, critique, installation and documentation.
