Sports Facilities

The indoor and outdoor sports facilities on our campus serve students and staff throughout the year. Our sports facilities host various events, primarily academic sports education, as well as spring festival sports activities, team sports, and recreational practices.

Anadolu Sports Center

Located on the Yunus Emre Campus, the Anadolu Sports Center consists of a Sauna, Step and Aerobics Hall, Gymnastics Hall, and a Vitamin Bar. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art bodybuilding and sports equipment. The gymnastics hall accommodates up to 24 people exercising simultaneously, while the sauna can serve 10 people at a time. Members who benefit from these services by paying monthly or daily fees have the opportunity to exercise systematically under the supervision of expert instructors and trainers.

Football Pitch

Inaugurated in 1992, the pitch spans an area of 10,000 m² and features an open grandstand with a capacity of 500 spectators. Located on the Yunus Emre Campus, the pitch is used for sports organizations held among our university's faculties and vocational schools, as well as staff tournaments. The track surrounding the football pitch is suitable for walking and jogging. Its use is free of charge.

Indoor Swimming Pool

Built as a complex consisting of 3 separate buildings, the facility includes two separate pools, a meeting room, and various purpose-built units. Covered with a space frame roof, the pool section is heated with dry air. This section, covered with underfloor-heated non-slip tiles, houses two pool basins: one small and one large. The larger basin is 25.3 meters long and 16.5 meters wide, with a depth of 1.95 meters in the center and 1.90 meters at the sides. The other basin is 16.5 meters long and 6 meters wide, featuring a slope that deepens from 66 cm to 132 cm. Both basins are illuminated by underwater floor lamps. The pool operates daily from 07:30 to 23:00. All members of Anadolu University and the public of Eskişehir can benefit from the pool within a designated schedule and on an appointment basis.

Tennis Courts

There are 5 courts in total, two of which are clay courts. They open in May as the weather warms up and remain operational until November. An appropriate lighting system is available for night matches. Students and university staff can make reservations.

Yunus Emre Sports Hall

Located on the Yunus Emre Campus, this Sports Hall provides facilities for volleyball, basketball, table tennis, step, and aerobics. It is utilized for official tournaments in which our university participates, as well as inter-faculty competitions. The hall also hosts various events such as concerts and meetings. It is open for use every day of the week from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Students and university staff can utilize the hall during designated free hours, provided they are members.

The flooring of our sports hall is designed for basketball, volleyball, handball, and futsal games. The hall features 1 female and 1 male changing room. It is open to our students at specific hours of the week, provided they apply to the department in accordance with the hall's capacity and terms of use.

Sports Events Organization Unit

This unit manages various sports fields, including football, volleyball, basketball, handball, swimming, athletics, archery, tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash, bridge, arm wrestling, taekwondo, muay thai, fencing, judo, karate, chess, and more.

It is responsible for the preparation of the Anadolu University teams that will compete in the sports tournaments organized annually by the Turkish University Sports Federation.
It organizes the traditional inter-departmental sports competitions with the participation of faculties and vocational schools.
It runs the football leagues established to ensure long-term student participation in sports activities.
It organizes recreational sports practices and sports events tailored for university members.

Social and Cultural Life

Anadolu University offers numerous social activity options both on and off campus. More than a thousand activities are organized on campus every year. The university features several congress, concert, and exhibition halls, as well as theater, opera, and cinema halls. In these halls, students can make the most of their leisure time by participating in cultural activities. If they wish, they can also benefit from these activities as ECTS credits for the Cultural Organizations course.

Additionally, there are many outdoor events organized on campus and throughout the city. With the support of the university, students are highly active, organizing national and international festivals, cinema days, excursions, and similar events. Furthermore, the university hosts tournaments organized annually during the Spring Festivals, which were first launched in October 2004.
