School of Music and Drama | Department of Musicology | Program in Musicology

The Department of Musicology at Anadolu University State Conservatory aims to train researchers who can examine music from historical, cultural, theoretical, and analytical perspectives, and who possess interdisciplinary thinking skills. The program is designed to equip students with knowledge in music history, music theory, ethnomusicology, systematic musicology, and Turkish music.

The curriculum combines theoretical courses with practical components such as solfège, harmony, analysis, music technologies, and field research methods. Students gain insight into both Western art music and Turkish music traditions, while also becoming familiar with contemporary approaches in musicology.

Graduates can pursue careers as music researchers, archivists, editors, music critics, or cultural project specialists, and may continue their academic studies at the graduate and doctoral levels.
