The Program of  German Language Teaching was initially established as a three-year program in the School of Foreign Languages.  In 1982, the duration of the program was extended to four years within the framework of the restructuring of higher education.

A language score is required to enrol in the department which involves a preparatory program.The number of students enrolled is about 45 per year.

In the academic year 2013-2014 the number of students is 340 in total, 100 of which in the preparatory program, 60 of which in first grade, 53 of which in second grade,56  of which in third grade and 71 in fourth grade.

The domains of teaching are German as a second foreign languge in state schools and as a first foreign language in private schools.

4 professors,1 associate professor, 5 assistant professors, 1 teaching assistant and 1 research assistants  are currently working in the department

The Department of German Language Teaching  offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The students who enrol in these programs take a language proficiency exam and, if necessary, attend the Language Preparatory Program.
