  • Profile of the Programme

Established in 1985, the Department of Ceramics embraces an educational approach that emphasizes not only the use of modern ceramic technologies but also the importance of research and creativity through a comprehensive understanding of the versatility and possibilities of ceramic materials.

With its highly qualified academic staff and well-equipped studios, the Department of Ceramics enriches its educational program by regularly organizing research projects, technical visits, and cultural and artistic activities, including seminars, conferences, and exhibitions. These activities aim to enhance students' knowledge, develop their critical thinking and artistic skills, and reinforce the significance of art in both education and society.

Students have the opportunity to undertake optional internships in ceramic factories, artists' studios, and various design-related fields. These internships enable them to gain practical experience, improve their professional knowledge and skills, and develop the ability to address challenges they may encounter in their future careers. In addition, international internship opportunities are available through the department's global collaborations.

The department actively encourages and supports students' participation in national and international ceramic competitions. To strengthen communication and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and professional experience, seminars featuring the department's alumni are regularly organized.

Graduates of the Department of Ceramics may pursue careers as researchers in their field or, by obtaining a teaching certification, work as teachers. They may also find employment as designers in independent studios, ceramic manufacturing companies, or a wide range of creative industries. Furthermore, graduates can continue their academic careers through postgraduate studies and become faculty members, teaching ceramics and related subjects at higher education institutions.

Founded in 1985, the Ceramics Department has an educational approach that emphasizes the importance of research and creativity, as well as the use of modern ceramic technology, by understanding the versatility and limitations of ceramic materials. With a well-equipped teaching staff and workshops, the Ceramics Department enriches its education by regularly organizing research projects, trips, cultural and artistic activities (such as seminars, conferences, and exhibitions) to enhance students' knowledge, develop their thinking and abilities, and emphasize the necessity and importance of art.

Students have the option to undertake internships in alternative fields such as ceramics factories, art workshops, and design departments. Through these internships, students learn how to deal with the challenges they may face in their careers and improve their knowledge and skills. There are also internship opportunities abroad. Students are supported by the faculty and department to participate in ceramics competitions both domestically and internationally.

Seminars are organized to facilitate experience and information sharing, as well as communication with the graduates of our department. Graduates of this department can work as researchers in their fields, obtain a teaching certification to become teachers, or work as designers in freelance workshops, ceramic factories, or different sectors. Additionally, they can pursue academic careers and teach in Higher Education Institutions in their own fields.
