Department of Data Science and Analytics; It is an interdisciplinary field that includes many branches of basic and technical sciences such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, artificial intelligence and software. The department consists of various main focus areas in accordance with the dynamic structure of the field. These are: Statistical Modeling, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Big Data Technologies and Artificial Intelligence. The Department of Data Science and Analytics examines data in the light of algorithms, statistical methods and modern information technologies in the digitalizing world and provides education and training in this direction. In the first two years, more general and common courses such as programming, algorithm, calculus and statistics, which form the basis of the Faculty of Computer and Information Sciences, are given. In the third and fourth years, there are department-specific specialization courses. Students of the department are also allowed to take many elective courses in the academic and sectoral fields they want. Graduates of the department can be experts in their fields as well as have general skills such as data literacy, analytical thinking, modeling and strategic decision-making that they will need in today's rapidly changing technology world. Graduates will be able to find employment opportunities in technology and data departments, especially in sectors such as informatics, finance, e-commerce, telecommunications and health. They can be employed as data scientists, data analysts, machine learning engineers or data specialists in all public and private institutions, especially technology and R&D companies. The department is located on the Yunus Emre Campus, the central campus of Anadolu University.
