  • General Information

Department of Private Law was established in 1997. The Department consists one Doctorate Program and one Master Degree Program. Department of Private Law is a branch that provides advanced level of expertise to graduate and doctor candidates. Candidates examine especially current and controversial issues in sub-branches of private law in the courses they take during the semester requested by each discipline. In these examinations, they evaluate and discuss the current concepts and institutions of private law in the light of new developments. In the courses, faculty members encourage candidates to develop a critical approach about existing concepts and institutions, to identify and define new ideas by following developments, and to defend their original thoughts they have formed at the end of their studies. Candidates who complete the course phase take the relevant exams depending on the field of private law and prepare an original thesis on this subject.
