~~Department of Pharmaceutical Toxicology was founded in 1983 under Anadolu University Faculty of Pharrmacy. 1 associate professor and 2 assistant professors are still working in the department and also undergraduate and master programmes and research activities are conducted.
In our department, genotoxicity studies are performed by in vitro Ames and umuC tests;, different types of in vitro cytotoxic assays are performed for predicting cytotoxicity and also in vivo acute and chronic toxicity studies are  performed and systemic toxicities are investigated via alterations of biomarkers in different organs (liver, kidney and heart, etc.). Also, retrospective studies of poisoning cases  are performed in collaboration with Emergency Service of ESOGU Medicine Faculty Hospital. Monitoring studies of drugs which are used chronically are carried out to investigate the individual differences with the collabration of Department of Pharmacology, ESOGU Medicine Faculty.
