The Social Studies Education Program, established in 1998 under the Department of Primary Education, was incorporated into the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education, which was created during the restructuring of the Faculties of Education in 2016. The primary objective of this program is to train "Social Studies teachers for secondary schools." Graduates are eligible to work in various schools and institutions within both the public and private sectors. As of the 2026-2027 academic year, the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education consists of 9 professors, 5 associate professors, 1 assistant professor, and 1 research assistant with a PhD.
