Week - 1 Introduction to the course; the concept of artistic anatomy, anatomy in art history, and overview of the semester plan.
Week - 2 Human skeletal system: general structure, proportions, and major bone groups. Observational drawings from a live model.
Week - 3 Human muscular system: superficial muscles, muscle masses, and form changes with movement. Drawing studies from a live model.
Week - 4 Integrated reading of the skeletal and muscular systems: the reflection of subcutaneous structure on surface form. Detailed studies from a live model.
Week - 5 Integrated reading of the skeletal and muscular systems: the reflection of subcutaneous structure on surface form. Detailed studies from a live model.
Week - 6 Integrated reading of the skeletal and muscular systems: the reflection of subcutaneous structure on surface form. Detailed studies from a live model.
Week - 7 MIDTERM EXAM: Evaluation of drawing portfolios focusing on the skeletal and muscular systems.
Week - 8 Skull drawings: bone groups, general structure of the cranium and facial skeleton, major landmark points.
Week - 9 Introduction to skull modeling: construction of general form and proportions in clay; defining the cranium and facial regions.
Week - 10 Deepening of skull modeling: three-dimensional expression of bone protrusions, landmark points, and surface transitions.
Week - 11 Completion of skull modeling: overall form evaluation, surface integrity, and detail refinement.
Week - 12 Eye anatomy: anatomical structure of the eyeball, orbital cavity, and eyelid, and their surface form relationships. Observational drawings.
Week - 13 Eye modeling: volumetric construction of the eyeball; eyelid transitions, inner and outer corner form relationships.
Week - 14 FINAL: Cumulative portfolio evaluation of all drawing and modeling works and end-of-semester presentation.
