By the end of this course, students will be able to analyze the historical relationship between ritual, drama, and tragedy, and explain the fundamental concepts and structural elements of drama and tragedy. They will develop a theoretical understanding of the morphology of fairy tale narratives and examine the structure of fairy tales and narratives using Vladimir Propp’s analysis system. Additionally, students will evaluate Campbell’s anthropological approaches, particularly within the context of "The Hero’s Journey," and interpret the structural elements of theatre, as well as approaches to acting and directing. They will also identify major theatrical movements and playwrights, forming insights on modern interpretations and adaptations. |
