  • To be able to explain the importance and structure of the financial system; To have knowledge about the types of financial markets and the functions of financial intermediaries.
  • To be able to explain the causes of inefficiency in the economy in a situation where there is no money; To have information to define the importance of the money and payments system, the change it has undergone in the historical process, and how the money supply is measured in Turkey.
  • To have knowledge and skills about the meaning, measurement and determination of interest rates.
  • To be able to explain the reasons for the differentiation in interest rates of bonds with the same maturity and risk structure.
  • To have knowledge and skills about the meaning and determination of exchange rates and the operation of the foreign exchange market.
  • To be able to define and explain how money demand is determined and how equilibrium is formed in the money market in Classical, Keynesian and Monetarist approaches.
  • To be able to interpret the effects of monetary policy on the economy.
  • To be able to define and explain how money causes price instability (such as inflation and deflation), and how this relationship between money and prices occurs.
