In this period, sight-reading skills are developed along with intermediate-level knowledge of maqam and usul. Studies conducted through compound maqams and various usuls enhance the student's tempo control and rhythmic accuracy, correct intonation, and maqam-based reading/playing skills. Emphasis is placed on the transfer of articulation and nuance markings to performance. Students are enabled to sight-read longer and structurally richer works by increasing their reading speed. |
