This course teaches the correct use of parallel programming terminology and the fundamentals of GPU architecture and CUDA. Students apply thread hierarchy, the CUDA memory model (global/shared/constant/cache), streams–data transfer, and performance-oriented patterns (reduction, histogram, atomic operations, floating point); they achieve acceleration through profiling/optimization. It also briefly covers CUDA–MPI co-operation and portability with OpenCL/OpenACC. |
