Week - 2 2nd Week: The transition of news flow from hierarchy to network structure, as exemplified by Manuel Castells (The Rise of the Network Society) and Jan van Dijk (The Network Society).
Week - 3 3.Hafta: “Haber nedir?" sorusunun yeniden tanımlanması; anlık veri akışı, likit gazetecilik ve "süreç olarak haber" kavramı.
Week - 4 4th Week: From Bruno Latour's perspective; the entry of algorithms, software, and robots into the newsroom as "non-human actors.
Week - 5 5th Week: The shift from traditional editorial processes to algorithmic selection; the impact of Facebook, Google, and X (Twitter) algorithms on news visibility.
Week - 6 6th Week: News writing with Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). Discussions on productivity vs. creativity.
Week - 7 7th Week: Big Data analysis, open data sources, and the epistemological value of data as a news source.
Week - 8 8th Week: Midterm exam
Week - 9 9th Week: Content delivery based on user data; filter bubbles and their role in social polarization.
Week - 10 10th Week: News organizations' dependence on tech giants, the collapse of advertising models, and "Surveillance Capitalism".
Week - 11 11th Week: Click-driven production, content moderation, and the changing professional identity of the journalist.
Week - 12 12.Hafta: Deepfake, post-truth (hakikat sonrası) ve yapay zeka ile üretilen yanlış bilginin kamuoyuna etkisi.
Week - 13 13th Week: Algorithmic bias, responsible AI, and the translation of journalistic principles into code.
Week - 14 14th Week: Citizen journalism, blockchain-based news models, and independent networks. Presentation and academic discussion of research proposals developed by students throughout the semester.
