Mode of Delivery Face-to-face individual research and artistic work under the guidance of the advisor, including literature and artwork review, production, documentation, thesis writing, critique and semester progress presentations. The weekly plan is adapted to the student’s research stage; formal thesis defence and assessment follow the applicable graduate regulations and Graduate School timetable. The semester plan does not require the entire thesis process to be completed in a single semester.

Recommended Resources For the research problem, theoretical framework, methodology and work plan of the thesis research in Painting, recommended resources include publications on modern and contemporary art history, art theory, aesthetics, visual culture and artistic research methods; artists’ writings, museum and exhibition catalogues, visual archives and the resources below. Aims of the Course To enable the student to conduct theoretical inquiry and artistic work addressing a researchable problem in Painting, evaluate findings obtained through appropriate methods, and present the research through an ethically prepared master’s thesis, visual documentation and presentation.
