| Aims of the Course |
The aim of this course is to teach students the fundamental concepts, principles, and functioning of transport economics within the framework of economic science. Accordingly, it aims to provide an understanding of the applications of basic economic approaches regarding supply and demand equilibrium, production costs, and price formation within the transport sector. Within the scope of the course, the structure, characteristics, cost elements, and pricing methods of transport systems will be examined, with the goal of comparing different modes of transport in terms of their economic, environmental, and social impacts. Furthermore, it aims to evaluate the factors influencing the development of the transport sector, the problems encountered in the sector, and the proposed solutions to these problems. By analyzing Turkey's transport policies in line with international developments and sustainable development goals, the course aims to develop students' analytical thinking and policy evaluation skills regarding transport economics. |
