Aims of the Course The aim of this course is to examine the historical development, fundamental principles, and national and international legal foundations of women's rights, and to evaluate women's rights in social, economic, political, and working life from the perspectives of gender equality and human rights. The course covers women's rights movements, international conventions and national legislation, combating discrimination and violence against women, the rights to education and political participation, equality in working life, wage differentials, care responsibilities, and women's representation in decision-making mechanisms. Institutional mechanisms and public policies designed to protect women's rights are also critically examined. The course aims to enable students to analyse theoretical approaches and legal regulations concerning women's rights, evaluate gender-based inequalities from multiple perspectives, and develop rights-based policy recommendations for advancing women's rights.
