The music therapy non-thesis master program offers academic training opportunities to students who want to become music therapists in Turkey. It is a program that requires regılar attendance. This program, which has interdisciplinary relations with the fields of Health, Music, Education and Special Education, requires a bachelor's degree from one of the application conditions announced before student admission, as well as having the musical knowledge and instrument skills required for music therapy practices. In addition to the compulsory theoretical and applied courses, students are required to take the supporting elective courses deemed necessary by their advisors, successfully complete the applied term project under supervision, and practice at least 700 hours in total.

This program supports the development of music therapy as a multi-disciplinary science field and its recognition as an independent health profession, and aims to develop in a way that contributes to the dissemination and establishment of scientific music therapy practices as a modern and evidence-based innovative component in health and special education practices.

Although English is not a prerequisite for admission to the program; Since most of the source books and existing literature in music therapy education are in English, and guest scientists' seminars from abroad are frequently included, it is very important to be fluent in English in order to follow current developments and benefit more from the program.

Admission to graduate programmes is governed by the relevant legislation on graduate education, the Anadolu University Regulation on Graduate Education and Examinations, and the admission requirements announced by the relevant Graduate School. Depending on the programme, admission decisions may take into account the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) score, foreign language proficiency, undergraduate or graduate grade point average, written scientific assessment examination, interview, portfolio, and/or other programme-specific selection criteria.
Candidates who are offered admission must complete their registration within the deadlines announced by the relevant Graduate School and submit all required documentation. Admission through horizontal transfer is carried out in accordance with the Anadolu University Regulation on Graduate Education and Examinations and the procedures established by the relevant Graduate School. The application and admission procedures for international applicants are conducted in accordance with the admission requirements and supporting documentation approved by the Senate of Anadolu University.
In addition to meeting the general admission requirements, it is necessary to have at least a 4-year undergraduate degree in one of the following programs, and additionally to have sufficient musical knowledge and instrument skills for music therapy practices: - Health (Medicine, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Audiology, Nursing or Midwifery) or- Music (State Conservatory or Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Music, Turkish Music or Musicology) or- Faculty of Education (Department of Special Education or Music Teaching).

Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the relevant higher education legislation, the University's regulations governing education, examinations and assessment, and the institutional principles for exemption and credit transfer. Students may apply, within the specified deadlines, for exemption and credit transfer based on courses successfully completed at another higher education institution or on equivalent prior learning. Applications are evaluated by the relevant board or commission with due consideration of course content, credit/ECTS values, grades obtained, and their compatibility with the curriculum and learning outcomes of the relevant programme.
Depending on the degrees awarded, theoretical or practical courses taken as part of a degree (completed or not completed) may lead to recognition of these as prior learning by the program administration. The students who have taken courses in another institution in Turkey or abroad can ask for credit and grade transfer. The executive boards of relevant program will decide on the courses to be transferred covering students' entire academic program once and for all with the condition that the request for transfer be made within the first week of the academic year, the requests cannot be repeated. The acceptance and adjustment of the students whose transfer must be approved by the Department of Music Therapy then it is finalized by the decision of the board of directors of the institute.

All students enrolled at Anadolu University are assigned a faculty academic advisor to provide guidance and support throughout their studies. Academic advisors offer counselling from the beginning of the student's academic programme until graduation, assisting students with academic, administrative, and other matters related to university life. In particular, advisors provide guidance during course registration and course selection processes, monitor students' academic progress, and support them in making informed decisions regarding their educational pathways.

The programme is delivered in distance mode. Students are enrolled on the programme as (full-time / part-time) students. Teaching and learning activities are conducted in accordance with the programme curriculum, including the semester structure, scheduled class hours, practical components, and, where applicable, online learning environments.

A student is required to successfully complete a minimum of 10 courses, not less than 60 ECTS credits and complete a term project, have a minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 and no letter grades lower than CC and YT.
A student is required to successfully complete a minimum of 10 courses, not less than 75 ECTS credits and complete a term project, have a minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 and no letter grades lower than CC and YT.

To be awarded a Non-Thesis Master's Degree, students must successfully complete at least ten courses and a term project, corresponding to a minimum of 60 ECTS credits. To qualify for graduation, students must obtain a grade of Satisfactory (YT) or CC or above in all courses, achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale, successfully complete and submit the term project, and receive a Satisfactory (YT) grade for the project.
Application hours of compulsory and elective courses; a total of at least 700 practice hours must be completed, including clinical applications, practice assignments, intervision studies and a term project to be carried out under supervision in health, care, rehabilitation and special education environments.

Students who successfully fulfil all programme requirements are awarded a Master's Degree Diploma in Music Therapi Masters Program (Non Thesis) (MSc).. Graduates obtain a Level 7 (Master's Degree) qualification within the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF).

Graduates of this program, within the framework of the legal regulations applied by the Turkish Ministry of Health and other relevant official regulations, hospitals, centers, units, etc. where they can be employed. In addition, it is foreseen that graduates can work as music therapists (or music therapy practitioners) in other care, rehabilitation or special education institutions, if official permission is given.

Graduates of non-thesis Master's Degree programmes are not eligible to apply directly for Doctoral or Proficiency in Arts programmes under the current legislation. To pursue doctoral studies, they must first successfully complete a Master's Degree programme with a thesis.
