| Profile of the Programme

The Program in Pre-School Education is a four-year undergraduate program in the Open Education Faculty of Anadolu University. This program was launched pursuant to a protocol of January 25, 2001 between the Turkish Ministry of Education and Anadolu University. The program is entirely based on open education. Yet, it is equivalent to undergraduate programs in pre-school education offering on-campus education in Turkey.

The main aim of the program is to contribute to the training of pre-school teachers without any concession of quality within affordable costs by considering the required number and quality.

Students enrolled in this program get a ‘Pre-school Teaching Diploma’ when they complete their four-year education and training successfully. The graduates of the program are appointed as pre-school teachers according to the legislative provisions of the Turkish Ministry of Education. If students complete the first two years successfully, they can obtain ‘Associate Degree Diploma’ provided that they leave the program. In addition to this, prospective pre-school teachers have the possibility of working as hourly-paid teachers while attending the program in case the Turkish Ministry of Education requires.

The program stopped admitting new students in 2012-2013 academic year.
