The Undergraduate Program in Sociology in the Open Education Faculty of Anadolu University has admitted students with student selection and placement exam since 2009. The aim of the program is to enable students to gain sociological thinking skills by which they can explain the society they are born into and furthermore recognize their own individuality better.

In this four-year program, students take four exams in a year. Sociology students in the Open Education Faculty who have successfully completed the program will have the same rights as sociology graduates of faculties offering on-campus education. They can also have a master’s degree and/or doctorate degree in sociology sciences or another field which is related to social sciences. Graduates can be employed in both the public and private sector if they meet the necessary requirements.

In this program, sociology students have a chance to get an interdisciplinary education by taking courses such as political science, anthropology, philosophy, social psychology, psychology, social policy and public administration. Besides, the students will have the opportunity to study the sociological realities in Turkey and the basic topics of sociology such as culture, social gender, family, economy, industrialization, communication, environment and law.
