  • Profile of the Programme

The Sculpture Department at Anadolu University Faculty of Fine Arts has been a distinguished institution in art education since its foundation in 1990. With its dedicated academic staff and experienced technicians, the department is committed to cultivating skilled, innovative, and well-rounded artist candidates.

Our program emphasizes the importance of students developing their unique artistic voice by transforming their designs into tangible works. It encourages them to express their creative visions through the universal language of art. Alongside traditional materials and techniques, the department provides students with access to contemporary approaches and the latest technological advancements in sculpture.

In 2013, our workshops underwent significant modernization to meet current safety and ventilation standards. These include facilities for stone, metal, wood, jewelry, basic sculpture, anatomy, polyester, and bronze casting. Fully equipped with the necessary tools and materials, these workshops offer students the opportunity to realize their designs without financial constraints, fostering an environment where creativity can flourish.

The four-year curriculum combines practical and theoretical learning. Students engage in foundational courses such as Fundamentals of Sculpture, Modeling, Sculptural Techniques, Drawing, and Anatomy, while also exploring specialized subjects like Sculpture and Environment, Digital Sculpture, Jewelry Techniques, and Ceramic Sculpture. Theoretical courses such as Philosophy of Art, Art and Theory, Mythology and Sculpture, and Post-1960 Sculpture Art further enhance their understanding and intellectual growth in the field.

Graduates of the Sculpture Department are well-prepared for diverse career paths. They can pursue professional sculpting, advance in academia, or leverage their skills in related fields such as jewelry design and stage or set design, opening doors to a wide range of creative opportunities.
