The focus is on the use of literature in language teaching; examples of poems and theatre playsselected from English and American literature and literary works whose original language is English, and the different features of these two genres from other genres; activities attracting attention to the content richness of literary works; use of poems and theatre plays and teaching of cultural elements; objects and products in mother and target language culture in comparative and contrastive terms; proverbs and idioms, formulaic expressions with cultural values; social structures, roles, and relations; traditions/customs/conventions; beliefs, values, prohibitions and taboos, superstitions specific to societies; political, historical and economical background; cultural organizations; figurative/associative connotation, use of humor. |
