Week - 1 The notion of government and the role of Sultan from 14th to 18th century; central decision making bodies (grand vizier - imperial council) relationship
Week - 2 Change regarding inheritance and its reflection on the status of Sultan
Week - 3 Evaluation of Classical Ottoman history and contemporary studies on understandings of historiography of 17th and 18th century in light of new approaches
Week - 4 Reforms in the 18th century: The Tulip Era; Consumption habits, public life and its evaluation regarding Sultan- grand vizier relationships
Week - 5 Reform proposals of Müteferrika who belong to that era, towards various issues and Ottoman press
Week - 6 The contributions of experts such as Boneval and Baron de Tott to the reform period and Ottoman perceptions
Week - 7 3.Selim Era; Political advancements, the way council and government operation
Week - 8 Planned Reform Process: Nizam-ı-Cedid
Week - 9 Mahmut II era: Centralization policies, janissary, notables, fights against local riots and changes regarding government-citizen relationship
