Week - 1 Getting acquainted with the students, a general introduction to the main contents of the course and a brief discussion about the reading list of the course.
Week - 2 A general discussion about the ancient Greek approach to cosmic order and Greek mythology before the emergence of the philosophy.
Week - 3 A comparing discussion about the natural philosophy of Miletan thinkers (Thales, Anaksimander and Anaksimenes).
Week - 4 Discussing the main features of the Pythagorean philosophy with the reading of some ancient Pythagorean fragments.
Week - 5 Discussing the thinkers of the school of Elea such like Zenon, Xsenophanes and Parmenides through selected readings among related fragments.
Week - 6 Discussing the main problems of the thinkers of the school of Elea such like Zenon, Xsenophanes and Parmenides through selected readings among related fragments.
Week - 7 Mid-term examinations.
Week - 8 Discussion of the problems addressed by Eleatic philosophers such as Zeno, Xenophanes, and Parmenides through readings of relevant fragments.
Week - 9 Discussing the main tendencies and thoughts of the ancient atomist and pluralist thinkers such like Democritus, Leucippus and Empedokles.

Week - 11 Discussion of the teachings of Anaxagoras, and particularly his concept of Nous, in relation to the development of ancient Greek philosophy.
Week - 12 Determining and discussing the general characteristics of the rhetorical methods of the ancient Greek sophists in line with the readings of Plato's early works, Euthyphro, Charmides and Laches.
Week - 13 Debating and questioning the importance of the Sophists for the development of philosophy.
