The Purpose of the Program
The field of Veterinary Medicine is to train assistants for veterinarians having necessary qualifications and knowledge about laboratories, clinical applications, safety and reliability of food of animal origin and animal feeding and breeding. The program will meet the information needs of people who are interested in pets or generally all animals through distance education. In addition to providing education and job opportunities to young people in our country, the program aims to serve our economy and human health with these assistants who are more qualified and self-conscious. As the students completing the program will be in the status of 2 years associate degree graduates, they will be able to make vertical transitions to degree programs teaching according to formal education system.


Who can enroll?

  • Students who get 145 or higher scores on any score type in YGS (Higher Education Entrance Exam) can apply to associate degree in Veterinary Sciences. Also, graduates of Veterinary Health Vocational Schools can apply for vertical transition.
  • Applicants of this program are expected to have biology and medical science background.

After Graduation

  • The graduates of this program will win the title of technician.
  • As the students completed the program will be in the status of graduate of 2 years associate degree, they will be able to make vertical transitions to degree programs (Veterinary Faculties) teaching according to formal education system.


Training and Practice

  • Mandatory internship period of the students attending this program is 6 weeks (30 working days). Students can intern at one go or at different times dividing two (3+3).Mandatory internship can be performed at any time after completing spring term (2.semester) of the 1.year.
  • No application and other facilities in this program.


Personal Development and Career Opportunities

  • Graduates of Veterinary Sciences Associate Degree Program will have general knowledge about Basic Veterinary Sciences and security and work principles of preclinical laboratories.
  • Furthermore, the information they obtain about the wide range of animals from livestock to pets and zoonotic diseases, will contribute positively to their scientific and intellectual backgrounds.
  • Besides, they will have an idea about relevant legislation as well as basic information about food safety and reliability.
  • Students graduating from this 2 years education program, that could be attended after secondary education, will win the title of technician.
