Regardless of the undergraduate department graduated from, it is expected that applicants have completed a master's program in any subfield of music.The requirements include:The ability to perform any Turkish music instrument—whether from classical makam or folk music—at an advanced level;The ability to track the historical, geographical, and theoretical development of makam music from past to present;Proficiency in makam music theory, encompassing both the Yekta-Arel-Ezgi-Uzdilek system and pitch-based and seyir-based explanatory approaches;Knowledge of organology related to one's own instrument.Additionally, the relevant articles of Anadolu University's Graduate Education and Instruction Regulations, as well as decisions made by the Anadolu University Senate, are among the acceptance criteria.
