The importance of safe food production has been increasingly growing nowadays. When the health of human is considered, the need for consuming safe food increases the importance of food. Safe food production and control in Turkey is essential for growing healthy individuals, increasing the quality of production and competing with other exporter companies on foreign markets. Developments in this area have increased the need for manpower equipped with the knowledge and skills required to work in food control techniques. The control and assurance of food quality is closely related to educating well-qualified and well-equipped people tobe employed in the field. Today, the need for food controllers and their assistants is increasing day by day.

The purpose of this program is to contribute to the assurance of food safety and quality by educating assistant personnel who can offer food control and auditing services in line with the legislation by observing minimum technical and hygiene requirements in all production, processing and distribution stages, including the primary production of food and food contact materials and who can prepare an audit report when required. The graduates are also expected to be equipped with knowledge and skills required to take samples and conduct sensory, physical, chemical and microbiological analyses of samples in all stages of the process from the production to consumption of food.
