Labour Economics and Industrial Relations is an interdisciplinary field of social sciences that studies social policy, sociology, psychology, labour economics, and labour and social security law. The department has six main departments: Social Policy, Industrial Relations, Labour Economics, Labour and Social Security Law, Management and Occupational Sociology, Management and Occupational Psychology. The Department of Labour Economics and Industrial Relations has an interdisciplinary approach to work and work environment through various disciplines in social sciences such as social politics, law, economics, sociology, psychology,management and offers education in accordance with these disciplines. In the first two years of the programme, more of general and common courses offered by various departments of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences are lectured. However, the third and fourth years of study are devoted to specialized departmental courses. The department provides students with many elective courses to allow them to specialize in the fields they plan. Graduates from the department will be experts in their field as well as have generalized skills necessary in a rapidly changing world. The graduates find opportunities of employment especially in human resources departments of the public and private sector or get a job in other areas where the graduates of the faculty work. They can be employed as supervisors or skilled staff especially at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and all public institutions.The department is located on the main campus of Anadolu University, which is called Yunus Emre and is directed by one head and two deputy heads.
