Today, the discipline of philosophy is gaining more and more importance and makes significant contributions to different academic and applied disciplines. Philosophy, as a field that delves into the depths of human thought and questions universal questions, has a fundamental impact on many areas such as science, technology, art and human relations. In this context, there are a number of important justifications for the proposal to open a Thesis Master's program in Philosophy. First of all, philosophy has a rich intellectual heritage. The roots of philosophical thought date back to ancient times and beyond that, it has influenced and continues to influence many disciplines in the modern world. The Thesis Master's program to be opened in the field of Philosophy offers students the opportunity to understand and evaluate this rich heritage beyond undergraduate education. It is also important to study philosophical problems, which are relatively superficially treated at the undergraduate level, more comprehensively in terms of developing students' critical thinking skills and strengthening their ability to make logical inferences. The Thesis Master's program in Philosophy aims to develop students' ability to analyze and solve complex philosophical problems.

Students who complete the Master's Degree in Philosophy with a Thesis program will have the opportunity to pursue a career as a researcher or faculty member in the academic world. In addition, thanks to the more comprehensive studies that focus on specialization within the sub-disciplines of philosophy compared to undergraduate education in philosophy, it is aimed for students to develop their intellectual competencies and to use these competencies that they will gain by being employed in areas outside of academia.

In conclusion, Anadolu University Faculty of Letters Philosophy Department has a tradition and experience of approximately 17 years in undergraduate education. The current academic staff of the department is also at a level that can successfully carry out the Philosophy Thesis Master's program in terms of quality and quantity. Sharing this experience and accumulation with students at the graduate level and paving the way for students to specialize in the sub-disciplines of philosophy will provide students with important competencies such as developing critical thinking skills, contributing to scientific and social problems, and discussing ethics and values, in addition to providing them with intellectual richness. Finally, it will play an important role in shaping the future of its graduates by providing them with academic and non-academic professional career opportunities.
