  • Profile of the Programme

The Department of Sculpture, which started its education in 1990, trains creative and original artists who can work with all kinds of materials and techniques and combine the technological innovations and traditional methods required by the age, with the support of its expert academic staff and experienced technicians. Students have the opportunity to realize their designs without concern for cost, working in various workshops such as stone, metal, wood, jewelry, basic sculpture, anatomy, polyester, and bronze casting. The department teaches various techniques of art in workshops that have safe and healthy working conditions.

With a contemporary educational approach, the Department of Sculpture ensures that students can use all kinds of materials, tools, and equipment necessary for design and creativity processes through theoretical knowledge and practical work. Thanks to its close relationships with the world of science and art, the department offers students the opportunity to work on real-world art problems and collaborate with institutions that support their work. Exhibitions, workshops, conferences, and competitions organized within the department also support the professional and artistic development of the students. Moreover, students are encouraged to be recognized nationally and internationally and to win awards.

The Proficiency in Art program of the department aims to develop the conceptual problem-solving skills of researchers and artists who can identify current issues in contemporary art and sculpture, research and evaluate these problems, and propose new solutions. The education provides students with the opportunity to delve into research areas through practical applications, in addition to theoretical knowledge, thus contributing to their development as individuals who are sensitive to both artistic and social issues. The necessary infrastructure is provided for students to acquire an original position in the art world.
