  • To explain definitions and terms related to speech sound disorders (SSD); to explain the relationship between articulation and phonology; to know biological and neurological components which are essential to articulate speech sounds; to classify SSD; to know characteristic features and etiologies of SSD; to know the effects of SSD on academic and social life; to know the assessment process of SSD (case history, oral-peripheral examination, related standardized tests and non-standardized assessment tools) and to carry out the assessment procedure; to know therapy approaches for SSD and to manifest the differences between these approaches; to decide which therapy approaches will be practiced and to prepare a therapy plan for a theoretical case.
