Catalog Content The course will commence with an examination of the urban development of the Ancient Greek World, categorised according to geographical location and time period. The subsequent modules will address the principles of ancient urbanism, including defensive systems, fortifications, city gates, temples and sanctuaries, propylaions, streets, stoas, and other elements that contribute to the cultural identity of the ancient world. The course will also explore the cultural, religious, social and political structure in Greek cities, including shops and commercial houses, agoras, trade agoras, state agoras, theatres, bouleuterions, theatres, odeons, gymnasia, palaestra and etc.
