Aims of the Course

Week - 1 Personal pronouns and reflexive pronouns.
Week - 2 The use of the present tense and the infinitive.
Week - 3 The use of the future tense in the active voice.
Week - 4 Middle voice, verbs related to the use of the middle voice, and analyses of example sentences.
Week - 5 Translations and sentence analyses related to the aorist (habitual/general) tense in the indicative mood, active voice.
Week - 6 Translations and sentence analyses of some sentences by Heraclitus, Platon, and Aristotles
Week - 7 Continue with translations of sentences from Heraclitus, Plato, and Aristotle on the future tense and the aorist of active verbs.
Week - 8 Midterm exam
Week - 9 Selected translations and sentence analyses from authors of the ancient period.
Week - 10 Review of topics through selected sentence translations and sentence analyses from ancient authors.
Week - 11 Learning and translating some conventional religious phrases and names found on tombstones as examples of inscriptions.
Week - 12 Learning and translating some conventional religious phrases and names found on tombstones as examples of inscriptions.
Week - 13 Sentence translations and grammatical analyses from key ancient Greek philosophical texts.
