Speech and Language Therapy Department Master's Program was opened in the fall semester of the 2000-2001 academic year. The duration of the master's program with thesis is four semesters, and the program is completed in a maximum of six semesters. Students from other programs other than those who graduated from the Speech and Language Therapy undergraduate program cannot apply to master or doctoral programs at Anadolu University. In order to graduate from the master's program with thesis, it is required to take at least 7 courses, thesis proposal and seminar courses with a total of 60 ECTS credits.

100 hours of supervised practice is required for students coming from the Speech and Language Therapy undergraduate program in clinical courses. Practices are under the supervision of speech and language therapist and academic staff.

Admission to graduate programmes is governed by the relevant legislation on graduate education, the Anadolu University Regulation on Graduate Education and Examinations, and the admission requirements announced by the relevant Graduate School. Depending on the programme, admission decisions may take into account the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) score, foreign language proficiency, undergraduate or graduate grade point average, written scientific assessment examination, interview, portfolio, and/or other programme-specific selection criteria.
Candidates who are offered admission must complete their registration within the deadlines announced by the relevant Graduate School and submit all required documentation. Admission through horizontal transfer is carried out in accordance with the Anadolu University Regulation on Graduate Education and Examinations and the procedures established by the relevant Graduate School. The application and admission procedures for international applicants are conducted in accordance with the admission requirements and supporting documentation approved by the Senate of Anadolu University.
COMMON REQUIREMENTS1. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree for graduate applications, or a master's degree with thesis for doctoral applications. However, students enrolled in non-thesis master's programs before 06/02/2013 will also be able to apply to the doctoral program. Candidates who have a bachelor's or master's degree in different fields than the department they applied to, and those who have received their undergraduate or graduate degrees from another higher education institution can be taken into the "Scientific Preparation Program". In programs where the language of instruction is Turkish but the related undergraduate program is English, all of the scientific preparation program courses are opened in Turkish.2- In order to apply to graduate programs with education in a foreign language (except for programs in which the field of science is a foreign language), the candidates must have at least 60 points from the foreign language exams organized by ÖSYM or the Foreign Language Exam of Higher Education Institutions (YÖKDİL) or the international equivalence accepted by ÖSYM. must have received a score equivalent to this score from foreign language exams.3- Candidates who apply to the foreign language fields of master's and doctorate science must have a score of at least 80 in the foreign language they will study or the equivalent of this score from the international foreign language exams accepted by ÖSYM.4- In order to register foreign candidates who are entitled to enroll in programs whose medium of instruction is Turkish; Turkish Teaching Center (TÖMER) and European Language Portfolio (ADP) level equivalent; They must certify that they have received (C1) level points or get enough points from the Turkish Level Determination and Proficiency Exams to be held. Students who get 70 points or more in the "Placement Exam" are taken to the "Proficiency Exam". The Turkish language of the student who gets at least 70 points out of 100 in the "Proficiency Exam" is considered sufficient for the graduate program to which he applied. Turkish is considered sufficient for foreign nationals who graduate from undergraduate programs whose language of instruction is Turkish.5- Except for non-thesis graduate programs, more than one graduate program cannot be registered and continued at the same time.6- "Grade Point Averages" will be evaluated out of 100 in the success ranking. If the system in which the student is studying is 100, he / she has to enter his / her grade of 100, if it is 4, the grade of 4 The candidate who has "Grade Status Certificate" in both 100 and quadrant system must enter the "Grade Point Average" in the 4 point system into the system. If the scores are equal in the ranking, priority will be given to the candidate with a high undergraduate diploma grade, and if there is an equality here, the younger candidate will be given priority.7- Principal and substitute candidates who are entitled to register as a result of the success ranking will be announced in the announcements section on the Institute website.8- Final registrations will be made in person or by the person who has been given a notarized power of attorney, and candidates with missing / false statements will not be registered. However, the final registration of the candidates who will enroll in distance education programs will be made to the relevant institute or Open Education Faculty Offices personally or by the application of the person who has given a notarized power of attorney.9- The student who wants to request credit and grade transfer for the courses he has previously studied at the higher education institution must submit a petition to the relevant institute along with a petition that can serve as a basis for credit and grade transfer. Credit and grade transfer requests are examined by the relevant institute for once, covering the entire education of the student, and are resolved by the board of directors within 3 weeks at the latest from the beginning of the courses.10- Students are required to choose the courses to be taken during the registration renewal period and have it approved by their advisor. Otherwise, it will be considered as not registered due to missing transactions.THESIS MASTERS PROGRAMME ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:1- The success grade of the candidates is 2,00 / 4,00 if the transcript is prepared in the four-point system; If prepared in the 100-point system, 30% of the undergraduate "GPA", provided that they get 50/100 points, at least 55 points in the score type of the program applied for or Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) or Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) It is calculated by taking 50% of the ALES score and 20% of the foreign language score, if any, from one of the foreign language exams organized by ÖSYM or from the YÖKDİL exam or from the international foreign language exams accepted as equivalent by ÖSYM, provided that you get the equivalent score accepted by the University Executive Board. Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the relevant higher education legislation, the University's regulations governing education, examinations and assessment, and the institutional principles for exemption and credit transfer. Students may apply, within the specified deadlines, for exemption and credit transfer based on courses successfully completed at another higher education institution or on equivalent prior learning. Applications are evaluated by the relevant board or commission with due consideration of course content, credit/ECTS values, grades obtained, and their compatibility with the curriculum and learning outcomes of the relevant programme.

All students enrolled at Anadolu University are assigned a faculty academic advisor to provide guidance and support throughout their studies. Academic advisors offer counselling from the beginning of the student's academic programme until graduation, assisting students with academic, administrative, and other matters related to university life. In particular, advisors provide guidance during course registration and course selection processes, monitor students' academic progress, and support them in making informed decisions regarding their educational pathways.

The programme is delivered in face-to-face / blended mode. Students are enrolled on the programme as (full-time / part-time) students. Teaching and learning activities are conducted in accordance with the programme curriculum, including the semester structure, scheduled class hours, practical components, and, where applicable, online learning environments.

A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters. Letter grades and their associated coefficients are as follows;
Basically, the evaluation of students in the Program are through a midterm and a final examination. The students are required to complete a minimum of 100 clinical study hours at Education, Research and Training Center For Speech and Language Pathology (DILKOM) under the supervision of Speech and Lanugage Therapists and academic staff.

A student is required to successfully complete a minimum of 7 courses, not less than 52,5 ECTS credits, take the required seminar and the Field Specialization courses and write and defend a Master’s Thesis, have a minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 and no letter grades lower than CC, YT and no YZ, DZ grades.
1. Master's program with thesis consists of a minimum of 7 courses and a seminar course, being not less than 60 ECTS credits in total, and a field of specialization course and a thesis study, being not less than 60 ECTS credits. The seminar course, the field of specialization course and the thesis work are evaluated with the letter grades of YT or YZ. More than 60 ECTS courses cannot be taken in a semester. The student can take the seminar course from the thesis supervisor as of the second semester.2. At most two of the courses to be taken by the student can be selected from undergraduate courses provided that they have not been taken during undergraduate study. In addition, a maximum of 2 courses can be taken from the courses offered in other higher education institutions with the recommendation of the related institute head of the department / department and the approval of the institute board of directors.3. It is compulsory to take at least one course including scientific research techniques and research and publication ethics during graduate education.4. The duration of the master's program with thesis is 4 semesters for each semester, regardless of whether they have registered or not, starting from the semester in which the courses related to the program they are enrolled in, excluding the time spent in scientific preparation, and the program is completed in 6 semesters at most.5.At the end of 4 semesters, a student who cannot successfully complete the credit courses and seminar course in the curriculum, or has a course (s) with a letter grade of CD, DC, DD, FF, YZ or DZ, or who cannot achieve 2.50 GPA, is dismissed from the program.6. The maximum duration of the master's program with thesis is 6 semesters. The student who fails in the thesis work or does not enter the thesis defense within the maximum period of time is dismissed from the program.7. In order for a graduate student with thesis to be considered successful, he / she must receive a letter grade of YT, CC or above from all the courses taken and must provide a minimum GPA of 2.50.8. In the master's program with thesis; head of the institute department / department, taking the written opinion of the student for each student, a thesis advisor from among the faculty members of the university staff until the end of the first semester; He proposes the subject and title of the thesis determined with the student's advisor to the relevant institute until the end of the second semester. The thesis advisor and thesis topic proposal are finalized with the approval of the relevant institute board of directors. In cases where the nature of the thesis study requires more than one advisor, the second advisor may be appointed from within the University or from outside the University by the institute board of directors, upon the advisor's recommendation. The second thesis supervisor must have at least a doctorate / proficiency in art.9. If there is no faculty member with the specified qualifications in the university staff, a faculty member from another higher education institution can be appointed as a consultant by the institute board of directors, upon the recommendation of the head of the relevant department / department.10. The student of the master's program with thesis, wrote his thesis according to the rules in the Guide; In the fall and spring semesters, he defends verbally before the jury until the deadline for submission of the make-up exam letter grades specified in the academic calendar.11. Students who have completed their thesis; submits his thesis to the thesis advisor. Thesis advisor; examines the compliance of the thesis with the spelling rules in the Guide. Consultant; sends the thesis together with the written opinion that the thesis is defensible to the institute through the head of the related department / department.12. Plagiarism software program report and thesis regarding the thesis received by the institute are sent to the thesis advisor and the jury members. In case plagiarism probability is determined in the data in the report, the thesis is sent to the institute board of directors to be decided with the jury's justification.13. Jury members; It takes the student to the thesis defense examination by gathering the thesis, documents and materials at the specified day and time within 1 month at the latest from the date of delivery to them. The thesis defense exam consists of the presentation of the thesis and the following question and answer section. Exam; It is open to lecturers, graduate students and experts in the field.14. After the completion of the thesis defense exam, the jury is closed to the candidate and the audience, and by absolute majority; It makes a decision of acceptance, rejection or correction. The result of the defense exam is notified to the relevant institute directorate within 3 days following the thesis defense exam by the head of the institute department / department.15. A student whose master thesis is accepted is considered successful. A student whose thesis is rejected is dismissed from the program. The student who has been given a correction decision for his / her master thesis submits the thesis to his / her advisor again by making the necessary corrections within 3 months at the latest. With the advisor's opinion that the thesis is defensible, the thesis is submitted to the institute directorate through the head of the department / department. The student re-defends his / her corrected thesis within 3 months at the latest in front of the same jury in the manner stated in the fifth paragraph. The student who fails at the end of this defense and whose thesis is not accepted is dismissed from the program.16. In the master's program with thesis; The date on which the copy of the thesis signed by the jury is submitted to the institute is the date of graduation.17. Master's student; In order to promote and discuss publications in national and international arena, to increase the number of publications of the University, to increase the quality and to encourage broadcasting; At least one article in the relevant department / department must be published or accepted for publication in national / international refereed journals, or at least one paper (national / international congress, conference, symposium, etc.) must be published in full text.

To be awarded a Master's Degree with Thesis, students must successfully complete at least seven courses, a seminar course, specialisation courses, and a master's thesis, corresponding to a minimum of 120 ECTS credits. To qualify for graduation, students must obtain a grade of Satisfactory (YT) or CC or above in all courses, achieve a minimum CGPA of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale, successfully defend their thesis before an examination committee, publish at least one article in a peer-reviewed journal or one paper in a peer-reviewed conference related to their field of study, and satisfy all other graduation requirements prescribed by the programme.
The students are required to complete a minimum of 100 clinical study hours at Education, Research and Training Center For Speech and Language Pathology (DILKOM) under the supervision of Speech and Language Therapists and academic staff.

Students who successfully fulfil all programme requirements are awarded a Master's Degree Diploma in Master of Science (MS) Degree.. Graduates obtain a Level 7 (Master's Degree) qualification within the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF).

The graduates of this program can work in public and private hospitals affiliated with the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health, medical centers, special education and rehabilitation centers, private special education and rehabilitation centers, public and / or private elementary schools, nursing home, and public or private institutions offering home care services. In addition, graduates who wish to continue their academic careers can work as an academician and pursue a PhD programme in speech and language therapy.

Graduates of Master's Degree programmes with a thesis are eligible to apply for Doctoral (PhD) or Proficiency in Arts programmes in accordance with the relevant legislation governing graduate education.
Graduates who have completed the Master's programme with thesis in the Department of Speech and Language Therapy can apply to doctoral programmes in related fields.
