Vis-à-vis Turkish music, both virtuoso maqam instrument performers, and experts in the theory and analysis of Turkish music are needed in the Departments of Turkish Music in many conservatories. Above all, at the Department of Turkish Music of the State Conservatory of the Anadolu University, we need performers and theoreticians that we have raised, and are specialized in their field.

In addition to that, it is a well-known fact that there is an insufficient number of teachers who are experts in the instrument being taught to students that play maqam instruments in the music sections of the Anatolian High Schools of Fine Arts that we have mentioned before. Some of our graduates could be encouraged to go through a pedagogical formation and take up this aforementioned role, which would have a positive effect in some years on the level of mastery in playing of the students that will sit the higher education exam as candidates.

Our students that graduate as virtuoso instrument performers can become prominent as professional performers in various national and international ensembles. They can also choose to work as professional players in public institutions that perform Turkish music, or in radio and TV organizations such as TRT, the Turkish national broadcaster.
