Economics is basically separated into two sectors. While private sector produces goods and services for individual needs and private benefits, public sector produces goods and services for social needs and social benefits. Public finance is interested in separation of duties in business between private sector and public sector . Therefore, public finance is a discipline dealing with what the public duties of governments should be, how these duties should be fulfilled, what the sources of costs of these duties should be and how the sources should be financed. Public Finance Department has four main deparments; Public Finance Theory, Budgeting and Fiscal Planning, Fiscal Policy and Fiscal Laws. 

Students will be able to buy and sell stocks and futures contracts under the roof of Borsa Istanbul in a virtual environment at our faculty's Borsa Istanbul Application and Finance Simulation Laboratory (BISTLAB), trade with international stocks and apply leveraged transactions in Forex markets. Our graduates can continue their master's degree with thesis, master's degree without thesis and doktorate programs in the field of finance.
