The mission of the Doctoral Program is to cultivate scholars and experts who will conduct original, scientific, and innovative research at both national and international levels on the identification, education, and development of gifted individuals. The program aims to integrate theory with practice, foster ethical values, critical and creative thinking, and leadership skills, while generating knowledge that supports the optimal development of gifted individuals. In doing so, it seeks to strengthen Turkey’s research capacity in the field and to produce scientific knowledge that has both academic and societal impact.

The main objectives of the Doctoral Program in Education of the Gifted are:

  1. Scientific Research and Theory Development

    • To develop original theoretical models, psychometric tools, and educational programs in the field of gifted education.

    • To produce high-quality academic publications that contribute to the advancement of the field nationally and internationally.

  2. Training Qualified Scholars and Experts

    • To educate versatile, highly skilled researchers and academicians who are specialized in gifted education, and who demonstrate strong critical and creative thinking abilities.

    • To prepare scholars capable of leading national and international research projects in the field.

  3. Practice and Policy Development

    • To design evidence-based models for the early identification, support, and education of gifted individuals in the education system.

    • To generate scientific data that informs educational policies and to collaborate with decision-making bodies.

  4. Internationalization and Collaboration

    • To contribute to global academic networks in gifted education and to foster international collaborations.

    • To prepare doctoral students for participation in international academic and professional contexts.

  5. Social Contribution and Impact

    • To contribute to social development through the education of gifted individuals.

    • To design outreach, consultancy, and training programs for families, teachers, and institutions involved in the education of the gifted.
