  • Profile of the Programme

The Department of Sculpture, which started its educational life in 1990, with the support of its expert academic staff and experienced technicians in the field, trains creative and original artists who can work with all kinds of materials and techniques, combining the technological innovations required by the era with traditional methods. Students have the opportunity to work in various workshops such as stone, metal, wood, jewelry, basic sculpture, anatomy, polyester, and bronze casting, realizing their designs without concern for cost. The department teaches students various techniques of art in workshops that have safe and healthy working conditions.

With a contemporary educational approach, the Department of Sculpture ensures that students can use all kinds of materials, tools, and equipment they will need in the design and creativity processes through theoretical knowledge and practical work. Thanks to the close relationships established with the world of science and art, the department offers students the opportunity to work on real-world art problems and collaborate with institutions that support these studies. Exhibitions, workshops, conferences, and competitions organized within the Department of Sculpture support the professional and artistic development of students. Furthermore, students are encouraged to be recognized nationally and internationally and to win awards.

The Master of Fine Arts with Thesis Program in the Department of Sculpture, aims to train researchers and artists who can identify and analyze current problems related to contemporary art and sculpture and develop innovative solutions to these problems. The program offers students the opportunity to deeply explore their research areas and develop their conceptual problem-solving skills to an advanced level. By highlighting the importance of art in societal development, and considering the later development of sculpture art in our country compared to other art forms, the program aims to contribute to the development of young people's creative personalities without changing them, to support contemporaneity and research, and to provide a foundational education for all these. The program ensures conditions for students to make their unique mark in the field of art.
