  • evaluate the narrative of “war and peace” from the Classical Era to the Modern Period via literature
  • compare the narrative of war and peace in the works of Ottoman historiographers (chroniclers and annalists)
  • put forth the quality of war and peace narratives in the works of contemporary historians
  • determine the effects of military history studies on Ottoman history
  • Will be able to evaluate the policies of war; in terms of war finance, military technology, logistics, the actors of war, the effects of war on population, health, education and immigration
