  • 1.Explain the event of globalization and its background and the paralellism between the development of media and the globalization. 1.1. Explains the basic charateristics of the globalization process and the basic dynamics that led the emergence of the globalization. 1.2. Expresses the relationship among globalization and the media both at global level and the local level (Turkey).
  • 2.Analyze the relationship between popular culture and the media by applying concrete media contents. 2.1. Expresses the situation of media in Turkey. 2.2. Expresses the Turkish magazine media and the tablodization of the media within the context of the popular culture. 2.3. Analyze the sport media of Turkey and the industralized football in Turkey within the context of the nationalism discourse.

Evaluate the consumer culture and the life styles represented in the Turkish media media and evaluate the representations of the richness and the poverty by applying to the media contents. 3.1. Expresses the debates on consumer culture in Turkey and the representations of life styles by the media. 3.2. Evaluates the representations of poverty in the Turkish media.
  • 4.Analyze the relationship of the public sphere, politics and the media by applying both traditional news media and the new media. 4.1. Debates the concept of the civil disobedience on the basis of the Turkish media. 4.2. Interrogates the sphere of the new media and the siber culture on the basis of the use of internet in Turkey. 4.3. Explains the concepts of the democracy, public sphere and the representation and critizes the contents of the Turkish media by applying these concepts.
