Courses Recomended This course is an introduction to graphic software that forms the basis of the graphic design process. It forms the basis for digital publishing. Students interested in this field are recommended to take Photoshop Applications, Digital Publication design, Web design and Visual Literacy courses after completing this course.

Assessment methods and criteria In the courses, the instructor introduces and explains the relevant topic every week, based on the course schedule he shares with the students. It is important for students to come to class and actively participate in the lectures and practices (it constitutes 10% of the success evaluation). Students\' participation in the course is ensured through sample applications and homework activities shared in the weekly Mergen system. Before the exams, sample activities and problems are shared with the students and feedback is provided to the students so that they can evaluate themselves. A midterm exam is held; In the midterm exam, three practice assignments are required within the scope of the course. Application assignments consist of geometric shape drawing, logo drawing and text application assignments. The student uploads the assignments he prepared using the software to the Mergen system and Drive connection in the desired format. Catalog Content Design programs in the graphic design process; Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Indesign programs. Recognizing Adobe Illustrator; features, creating new documents, vector and pixel, area controls, selection tools, tools menu, drawing of simple geometric shapes, logo and symbol drawing. Saving the document; Export in JPG, PNG, SVG, PDF formats. Social media content design. Getting to know Adobe Indesign program; features, creating new documents, using text fields and image fields, toolboxes, text wrapping, pathfinder. Magazine and newspaper page design; Publication preparation stages and applications.
