  • Profile of the Programme

The overall objective of the program is to train technicians who can contribute to the country's economy in terms of agricultural production, work successfully in agricultural enterprises and agriculture-based facilities, and apply advanced agricultural techniques.

Those who have graduated from agricultural vocational high schools with top three grades, technical high school graduates who have completed their education with top grades, and those who are continuing their formal education at a higher education institution that accepts students based on numerical scores can enroll in the program without an exam as part of a second university program. Other high school graduates can enroll with YGS and YGS2 scores.

A graduate who has acquired the knowledge, skills, and competencies specified in the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework and the Anadolu University Agricultural Technology Associate Degree Program Qualifications is now a professional. Although there is no specific professional legislation regarding agricultural technicians, when evaluated under Law No. 3795, published in the Official Gazette dated May 12, 1992, and numbered 21226, , those who have completed two years of higher technical education after high school are granted the title of technician in accordance with Article 3 of the aforementioned law and can perform all tasks requiring intermediate technical personnel related to agriculture. For example, in agricultural enterprises engaged in plant production, agricultural technicians can assist agricultural engineers in field crop cultivation, horticulture, and protected production systems.

Agricultural technicians can assist in preparing agricultural systems for use, preparing agricultural techniques for implementation, maintaining, adjusting, and preparing agricultural machinery for use, preparing agricultural land for cultivation, maintenance, and planting, carrying out operations in livestock enterprises, in the maintenance and use of milking facilities, in technical applications related to barn cleaning and maintenance, in preparing harvest and post-harvest techniques and technologies for use, and in carrying out agricultural pesticide applications, the agricultural technician diploma represents an important professional qualification. Agricultural technicians are technical support personnel who can assist agricultural engineers.

Graduates can transfer vertically to university programs related to agriculture, forestry, landscaping, environment, aquatic products, rural development, and life sciences. They can transfer horizontally to vocational schools related to agriculture, leatherworking, tobacco expertise, and fishing technology.
