  • Profile of the Programme

The Programme in Preschool Education offers undergraduate studies in the Department of Primary Education in the Faculty of Education. Besides the required courses, the programme offers courses related with teaching profession, area of specialization, culture and practice in the field. Students can also take elective courses. The programme has both theoretical and practical components. Theoretical courses are given in technologically-equipped classrooms. Practical courses are offered during four academic semesters in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, and primary and nursery schools affiliated with the Provincial Directorate of National Education under the supervision of course teacher and mentor. The aim of the Programme in Preschool Education is to train preschool teachers who will be employed in nursery schools, kindergartens, special classes, child clubs and research centers.

It has accepted students since the academic year of 1998-1999. Every year 60 students are accepted to the programme. The Programme in Preschool Education is located at Yunus Emre Campus of Anadolu University. The programme has 1 professor, 3 associate professor, 2 assistant professors, and 1 research assistants. The decisions related to the programme are made by the department academic board. The academic board of the department consists of the department head, two deputy heads and heads of programmes.
